Athens Campaign 2024

For the third time in a row, our summer campaign is taking us to Athens. However, the situation for refugees remains precarious due to political decisions in Greece.

The camps on the outskirts of the city are isolated, overcrowded and difficult to reach, meaning that many of the arriving refugees have to live on the streets. The already high level of homelessness is exacerbated by the lack of state-subsidised housing projects, which ironically coincides with the enormous housing vacancy rate.

Despite these immense problems, NGOs are working tirelessly to prevent the worst from happening. But these organisations are also under threat and many have had to close down over the last year.

Together we can help our five partner organisations - the Mazi Housing Project, Glocal Roots, Khora Athens, MVI and the Fáilte Centre - to remain active.

Your support can help make this campaign a success! Every donation helps our partner organisations to provide essential items such as soap and basic medical supplies, as well as equipment for housing projects.
