The European border management becomes more and more violent. After weeks without food or medical aid a 5-year old girl died after a scorpion bite in Evros.
Once again, unthinkable violence is occurring at the EU's external borders.
On their way to Europe, a group of refugees tried to cross the border river between Turkey and Greece "Evros". They were prevented by the Greek police and stranded on an uninhabited island in the middle of the river.
The people had to remain there for several weeks - without food, fresh water or medical care. This cost the 5-year-old Maria from Syria her life, she died as a result of a scorpion bite. Unimaginable: even after the girl's death, people were not evacuated immediately and had to hold out there for several more days.
We demand an end to the violence at Europe's external borders! Safe passage for everybody!
